SERDANG – Sembang Santai Series 3 with Khairul Amirin Khairuddin runs smoothly. The knowledge sharing is conducted by student for student to benefit. 

 Khairul Amirin Khairudin is the Project Manager of AIMAC UPM under the Student Representative Council Alumni Grant. He is Bachelor of Agricultural Science student from Faculty of Agriculture, UPM.

 In the first series Khairul Amirin shared on the importance of marketing knowledge in preparation for becoming an agro entrepreneur and determining the price of products sold in the market. In this session, Khairul Amirin shared on the importance Self-Remuneration Rate (SSR) to ensure equal demand and production.

 According to him, the chilli SSR in Malaysia is only at 30.9 percent according to the latest statistic in 2020 from the Malaysia Department of Statistics. Looking at the statistic, it turns out that the demand for chillies is high but the production is still low and it will affect the price of chillies on the market. When demand is high but production is low, prices will hike. What is happening today has opened up space for illegal importers that will affect market prices.

 "So the importance of knowledge in marketing and the importance of graduates in agriculture will be a shift in this field. It is important to be aware of the SSR rate of a crop to make it easier for us to assess which products are critical to work on and it will help the country to balance between demand and production. This will offer high profit due to the high demand for each of the crop products," he said.

In conclusion, Megachili Sembang Santai is a beneficial sharing and knowledge transfer program. All ideas, inputs and experiences are combined to ensure the success of the ongoing project of Megachili 2021.
